When Mason sees a painting come to life in an art museum he is thrust into a most unexpected journey. Will he be able to navigate the treacherous terrain that lay in front of him to find his way home, or will he fall to those who would seek to capture him?
Mason is a lonely young boy who finds no excitement in his dull life while his friends are away at camp. His mother does what she can but is often not around because she has to work to provide for them. One day, she brings Mason to an art museum, where he befriends a beautiful little girl in a painting. Disobeying his mother, he gets trapped amidst the vibrant colors and intricate landscapes of the paintings and must find his way through scene after scene to make it back to his mother. If Mason can emerge from his canvas labyrinth, his outlook on the safe/boring house and his struggling mother may just change.
