The Greatest Plague of Life: or, the Adventures of a Lady in Search of a Good Servant

This funny tale, written by two brothers, Augustus and Henry Mayhew, tells the story of a wife who is seeking a housekeeper who can complete her charming life, already occupied by two beautiful daughters and a loving husband. Of note is the authors' unique decision to censor the name of certain characters, including the protagonist herself.
