W. Somerset Maugham's 'The Razor's Edge' is a gripping novel that delves into the complexities of human existence and the pursuit of true meaning in life. Written in a straightforward and refined literary style, the novel follows the journey of Larry Darrell as he embarks on a soul-searching quest for enlightenment in post-World War I America. Maugham skillfully weaves together themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, creating a profound and thought-provoking narrative that resonates with readers of all generations. The book's exploration of Eastern philosophy and Western materialism offers a unique perspective on the eternal quest for spiritual fulfillment. Written in 1944, 'The Razor's Edge' is a timeless classic that continues to captivate readers with its deep insights and philosophical depth. W. Somerset Maugham, a prolific British author known for his keen observations of human nature, drew inspiration from his own experiences and encounters with individuals seeking meaning in a chaotic world. His nuanced portrayal of the characters and their inner struggles adds a layer of authenticity to the narrative, making 'The Razor's Edge' a compelling and unforgettable read. I highly recommend this novel to anyone seeking a thought-provoking exploration of life's ultimate questions and the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment.

    👍Worth reading
    💞Loved Up

This story has all one may wish; a love story, philosophy, humour, some elements of detective, and most exciting outstanding characters. I couldn’t wait each time to get back to reading and keep discovering depth of their souls as if they were my acquaintances, sometimes I even envied the author who had known such people and who himself was so kind and responsive.

I can only admire the radiance of such a rare creature, I cannot step into his shoes and enter into his inmost heart as I sometimes think I can do with persons more nearly allied to the common run of men

The multitudinous gods of India are but expedients to lead to the realization that the self is one with the supreme self.
