Christopher Lowery is a British author best known for his fact-based thrillers, often combining personal experience with historical events. He debuted with the African Diamonds Trilogy in 2104.
Christopher Lowery was born in the North East of England. He graduated with a degree in finance and economics after initially pursuing careers in professional golf and music. In 1966, Lowery moved to Switzerland, marking the beginning of a life that would see him work and live in six different countries over the next five decades.
Lowery built a successful career as a property developer and telecoms entrepreneur, notably founding Interoute Communications, now Europe's largest cloud services platform provider, and Wyless Group, a leader in the Internet of Things, now part of Kore Telematics.
In 2014, Lowery turned to writing and published his first two thrillers, The Angolan Clan and The Rwandan Hostage, as part of his African Diamonds Trilogy. These books drew on his family's experiences during the Portuguese Revolution of 1974 and his daughter's humanitarian work in Rwanda with the International Committee of the Red Cross. The final book in the trilogy, The Dark Web (2018), focused on Lowery's involvement in the Internet of Things.
His next fiction, The Mosul Legacy (2018), departed from the trilogy to tell a multi-stranded story against the backdrop of war-torn Iraq. It followed the parallel journeys of a family fleeing Mosul and jihadists seeking to bring terror to the West. Reviewers praised the novel for its suspenseful narrative and integration of factual events that echo the ongoing conflicts in the region. Lowery said, "There are no winners in war," a sentiment that permeates the novel's exploration of love, sacrifice and survival.
Lowery wrote Triple Jeopardy (2021), a sequel to his African Diamonds series. This novel combines his knowledge of international banking and his wife's experience in the Geneva auction business, further cementing his reputation for weaving personal knowledge into his fiction.
As well as writing thrillers, Lowery privately published All About Jack, a series of illustrated children's stories written in humorous verse. In addition, his love of poetry and music led to the creation of a country album entitled Life Happens, which he produced with Anthony J. Resta, a multi-platinum music producer.
Christopher and his wife Marjorie divide their time between London, Geneva and Marbella.
